Napping pods opened for use

The first napping pods at Aalto University's Otaniemi campus have been put into use. The capsules are located in the U-wing of the Undergraduate Centre (Otakaari 1), on the 1st floor near the hall U3 and in the Harald Herlin Learning Centre (Otaniementie 9) on the ground floor in the Makerspace. The exact locations of the capsules can also be found on the Aalto Space app map.
The napping pods are intended for short naps and rests between lectures, for example, and can be used during the opening hours of the building. When the house closes, the nap pods are also closed. The aim is to allow as many people as possible to use the nap pods - please reserve for a maximum of one hour at a time.
The capsules were implemented from an idea from students in a participatory budgeting project, and the placement of the capsules was also requested in a student survey. The location, use and instructions for use of the capsules will be further refined in the pilot phase and possibly based on feedback.

How to use napping pods:
- Book a capsule with the Aalto Space app. You can book a capsule for one hour at a time. The capsule is available during the opening hours of the building.
- Keep the capsule tidy and leave it clean. There is a storage space under the mattress of the capsule, where you can leave, for example, a backpack during a nap. In addition, the capsule has a USB connection for e.g. charging the phone.
- If you notice that the capsule is broken or has other issues, please contact the lobby service without delay.
- You can also leave feedback about the napping pod via Aalto Space app or ACRE homepage.
