Accessibility statement

Aalto University Campus & Real Estate's acre.aalto.fi website and its mobile application are subject to the EU's accessibility directive, the aim of which is to ensure equality in a digitalised society and set uniform requirements for accessibility.

The Acre.aalto.fi website was launched on 18 November 2020. The site's current accessibility standard is WCAG 2.1, level AA. The requirements of the Directive have been taken into account in the development of the website, and the work continues. The information in this statement is based on self-assessment.

Aalto University Campus & Real Estate is committed to observing accessibility standards. The following measures are implemented in order to achieve this goal:

  • accessibility is part of our mission statement,
  • accessibility has been taken into account in our practices,
  • a member of staff has been appointed to be responsible for accessibility.

Aalto University Campus & Real Estate's objective is to maintain a website that is technically accessible and understandable in terms of its contents and that is clear and easy to use for all types of users.

The site utilises Open Street Map (OSMF) in its events to help users find our locations. It’s provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. OSM endeavours to make their service accessible to all users and that they have a process for reporting issues. Click on the "Report a problem" on the map in which the problem occurs, and you can add a note (more information on adding notes on their page).

The Aalto University Campus & Real Estate's website largely meets the requirements for accessibility. The website requires further improvements, however, in the following areas:

  • video subtitles,
  • animation pause functions,
  • image descriptions (alt texts),
  • use of pdf files.

If you notice any deficiencies regarding the accessibility of the site, you can provide
feedback to: [email protected].

We will respond to your feedback within two weeks, at the latest.  We are actively working to address the accessibility issues that have been identified.
