The new parking policies piloted at the Otaniemi campus from January 2024 will be modified based on the experience gained and user feedback. The new changes and improvements will take effect on 15 February 2024.

Otaparkki parking fee will be significantly reduced

The most significant change is the reduction of the parking fee for the Otaparkki car park to align with the rest of campus parking pricing. The monthly fee for Otaparkki to €45* and the hourly charge to €1*. Otaniemi parking areas will use the same EasyPark or Parkman code, which can be found in the parking areas and in the app when parking. This will also give campus users who have purchased a monthly package the flexibility to choose whether to park in outdoor spaces or in the carpark, even on a daily basis. Parking is chargeable from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 18.00.

Otaparkki, as well as the similarly priced paid outdoor parking areas on campus, can be used by all visitors to the campus. The multi-storey carpark is located at Sähkömiehentie 3 and has space for more than 250 vehicles and 22 charging points for electric cars.

Users who paid a higher price for monthly parking in the car park in February will be contacted personally regarding refund arrangements.

Smoother campus parking with small improvements

In front of the Dipoli and Nanotalo, some of the parking spaces that had previously been converted to paid parking will be returned to the use of Aalto University staff as university permit spaces, better meeting the needs of the community. Minor adjustments will also be made to the car parks in front of Rakentajanaukio 4, Otakaari 3 and Otakaari 5 to ensure that parking is as convenient as possible for short-term visitors.

Aalto University staff will not have to pay for campus parking at the electric car charging points in the Dipoli, Harald Herling Learning Centre and Maarintie 8 areas, only the charging fee will be charged. This is also indicated by traffic signs next to the charging points.

Future changes are designed to better meet the needs and wishes of users on the Otaniemi campus, improve accessibility and convenience on campus.

*=prices will be increased by any service fee charged by the service provider (EasyPark/Parkman)
