Napping pods and energy saving - welcome to participate!
Warmly welcome to the traditional Earth Hour week's event 22nd of March 2023, organized by Campus Sustainability Team. This year's theme is Wellbeing on a Sustainable Campus.
The program of the event includes, among other things, a presentation of the campus energy saving actions and achieved results, as well as an overview of Aalto University's carbon neutrality roadmap. In addition, we will get a sneak peak of Otaniemi's new wellbeing route, hear how the napping capsules are related to the campus near-future development, and have a joint discussion about the importance and development of wellbeing in the university environment.
The event welcomes everyone in the Aalto community to join. Breakfast is provided for the attendees, but please register by 12th of March 2023, so we are able to minimize food waste.
During the week, the Campus Sustainability team will also put up a recycling point for textiles, where you can bring your extra clothes to be swapped with others or reused as textile waste, and an electronic waste recycling point (small WEEE) for small electronics, like cellphones. Detailed information about the recycling point will be announced later.
Earth Hour
Aalto University also participates in the international Earth Hour event organized by WWF on Saturday 25th of March by turning off the lights in some of the campus buildings. We encourage our community to join this international movement and turn off the lights at 8:30 pm at their homes too. Let's show the light sign for the climate!
