Aalto Alumni Weekend – a versatile event for 1,400 participants at Dipoli

Aalto University’s largest alumni event, Aalto Alumni Weekend, brought together alumni from all three of the university’s fields - technology, business, and arts and design - in October 2025 at Dipoli on the Aalto University campus. The event, attended by 1,400 participants, was held at Dipoli for the first time.

The diverse program featured inspiring keynote talks for a seated audience, and participants could choose from four program tracks that allowed them to explore a topical theme in greater depth under the guidance of leading experts. The day culminated in an atmospheric evening celebration to the music of Boston Promenade. During the evening, guests also had the opportunity to watch short films made by film students as well as the Radical Creatives documentary.

Dipoli provided a striking setting and a unique atmosphere for our event,” says Ville Hakulinen, Alumni Engagement Manager at Aalto University. The building’s distinctive architecture and modern facilities offer an unforgettable experience for all visitors, and for alumni who celebrated here during their student years, the venue is especially nostalgic.

Dipoli’s helpful staff and smooth collaboration played a significant role in the success of the event: “With the support of friendly and professional staff, the arrangements progressed seamlessly, and the spaces worked excellently for running a diverse program.” One of Dipoli’s key advantages is its versatile and scalable facilities, which make it possible to host very different types of events and programs, even simultaneously.

Dipoli has already been booked for the next Alumni Weekend event. “We were extremely satisfied with our choice,” Hakulinen concludes.
