Täffä Lunch has opened at shopping centre A Blanc

Shopping centre A Blanc has strengthened its restaurant offering as the award-winning lunch restaurant Täffä Lunch opened its doors in the centre on Tuesday, 6 October. The new restaurant will serve at A Blanc for two years during the renovation of Teknologföreningen’s home building, Urdsgjallar.

Täffä Lunch’s move to the heart of Otaniemi brings long-standing lunch traditions and quality everyday food to A Blanc. The 50-year Wednesday spaghetti day, the Thursday burger, and the Friday salmon remain on the menu, and vegetarian options will be further expanded. The early-week menu will take a more experimental direction with street-food-style dishes such as pitas and hot dogs with various fillings, as well as seasonal risottos. On the café side, the selection is complemented by wraps, hearty sandwiches, and overnight oats. The catering restaurant Täffä Ab will continue as before with student and corporate events.

Täffä Lunch has been voted Espoo’s best lunch restaurant three years in a row in Edenred’s poll. Head Chef Tommi Junttila thanks the team and customers: “Täffä’s top team and broad customer base are a great strength. It’s nice to move into new premises and refine our operations into a new mould.”

Head of Finance of the TF Board, Emil Smeds emphasizes continuity and the importance of community: “It is important to us that our restaurant operations continue without interruption and that our wonderful staff stay on board. We will do everything we can to ensure the continuity of the guild’s community and traditions.” There is also anticipation around the new premises: “We are excited about the opportunities and challenges of the new space! For instance, the beautiful new terrace next to Alvari Square inspires us and the summers to come.”

“On behalf of A Blanc, we are proud to welcome Täffä Lunch into our community,” adds Annamari Konttinen, Team leader of the leasing team at Aalto University Campus & Real Estate. “The new location at A Blanc, right by the Aalto University metro station and next to Alvari Square, makes Täffä an easily accessible meeting place for students, staff, and local residents.”

The renovation of Urdsgjallar, completed originally in 1966, will last two years. Täffä Lunch and Teknologföreningen will return to Urdsgjallar in autumn 2028.
