Changes in Maarintie 8 parking spaces
Approximately 200 parking spaces have been created behind the building at Maarintie 8 with a temporary permit in connection with the construction of the Metro Block (A Bloc, Väre, School of Business). With the completion of Otaparkki multi-storey car park, among other things, these temporary parking spaces will be restored to a Natura protection zone.
The parking spaces to be removed (marked in red on the map) are the spaces on the driveway behind the building Maarintie 8, facing the nature reserve. Other parking spaces in the surroundings of Maarintie 8 and all parking spaces behind the CS Building will remain unchanged.
On the other side of Maarintie, the parking spaces in the yard of Tietotie 1 have been added to the ‘Aalto University permit’ (green in the picture), as the VTT spaces have moved to the other side of the yard. Please note that some spaces in this area require a separate permit from the School of Business. In addition, completing the Kide building has created a few additional parking spaces between Saha and Nanotalo.
Schedule
Planning for the renaturation is currently underway, and it is expected that the modifications would start at the spring 2026 at the earliest.
Parking spaces elsewhere on campus can be found at Otaparkki (Sähkömiehentie 3), with approximately 260 spaces and 20 charging points, as well as several different courtyard parking areas.
